Beginning with the Scottish shepherds who made the “shepherd’s check”their unofficial uniform, houndstooth has, since its creation, been a print most comfortable in motion.
We like this pied-de-pouleas a more everyday piece (sans the livestock). We shortened the length of the jacket to complement this on-the-go attitude. Easy with jeans and a white button-down. Still does all the sophisticated things a classic black and cream houndstooth is bound to do, such as playing nice with black turtlenecks and Italian wool pants for cocktails with the Duke of So-and-So.
The foliage won’t be the only thing that undoubtedly impresses this fall.
Houndstooth Blazer (No. 6250). Luxurious lambswool, with a touch of cashmere, from Lanificio Di Pray in Italy. Jacket length is shorter than a traditional jacket. Notched collar with lapel, felt undercollar, faux horn buttons. Three interior double-welt pockets. Double back vent. Body lined in solid black acetate satin, sleeves lined in white and black striped acetate taffeta. Not just for special occasions. Imported.
